My name is Tony Turbeville. I founded Brookstone because registered reps need a broker dealer that is different. Not different in a big way. Just a few small ways that make a big difference.
Let’s face it, there really are not that many differences in independent retail broker dealers. Technology provided by clearing firms and third party vendors such as Morningstar, LaserApp, Albridge and many more, have, to a great deal leveled the playing field.
The most important issues are issues of attitude and service. At Brookstone we believe you are the customer. You deserve to be treated like one. We believe it’s our job to find a way to do it your way, as long as it doesn’t cause regulatory problems. Please don’t confuse the regulatory statement with the idea that we are here to serve regulators. Regulators are necessary but they are not our customer. You are our customer.
Why should you believe me? Because I have been a seven figure annual producing representative. I still run a book. The book is much smaller than in the past, but big enough to keep me in tune with reps. I know what it is to be a broker that didn’t get the service I deserved. I know what it takes to get and keep business. I know what it is to juggle being an entrepreneur, manager, adviser, spouse, parent and community volunteer all at the same time and then spend days fixing a commission problem or some other problem with my broker dealer. Something that should have taken minutes if only I had gotten a problem solving person, instead of a voicemail with a promise of a return call that never came.
At Brookstone we have four basic premises for serving our reps which we hope will include you:
- Have a person answer the phone when you call and transfer your call to a person who is happy to hear from you.
- Pay commissions on time and accurate with the detail to back it up.
- Have a reasonable compliance department with fast turn around.
- Solve problems with a good attitude
We believe these are the few small things that make a big difference.
