One of the most difficult decisions about moving broker/dealers is the paperwork process of moving clients; especially if you have a lot of accounts.
I understand this dilemma. I’ve been there. My whole staff and I have sat in the conference room filling out forms by hand on New Years Day so I could get back in business quickly. You provide us a database of the public information you have available on your clients (Hard copy will do if you do not have a database).
Name, address, phone etc and we will pre-populate all paperwork for you.
We will highlight all of the areas the client needs to complete including signatures which will also be tabbed.
We will add a very professional cover letter explaining that you have moved to better serve the client and to keep you as the broker of record they will need to complete and sign the enclosed paperwork.
If they do not return the paperwork, you do not know who they will be assigned to.
Obviously you will have the opportunity to review and tweak the letter to your satisfaction (compliance approval will be necessary).
We will mail the paperwork along with a postage paid return envelope to you.
You will then review for accuracy
Complete the following
- Fill in investment objectives
- Risk tolerance
- Tax bracket
- Sign where necessary
Return to us and we will handle the rest, including:
- Starting the ACAT process
- Faxing up BD change forms on direct business
- Calling in three days to confirm completion
- Recording the name of who we talked to and the date
- Calling back every two days until completed if not completed during the original three days
We literally have over a 99% success rate of clients transitioning without ever calling the broker using this system.
